We initially met with the various parties involved in mediation and discussed a number of issues. We requested, and had the opportunity to meet with the mediator alone to discuss our position. It is a common practice for the mediator to meet separately with each side. We expressed our strong objection to clear-cutting as has been done in other towns. We also expressed our belief that not only do we want to retain trees, but at the same time, have a robust vegetation program which would call for planting of additional trees and vegetation on property owned by DOT.
The mediator was next going to proceed to meet with Eversource to discuss its position on the various issues.
We expect to hear back from the mediator within the next few days.
