As of 7/15 all 8 counties in CT are experiencing Stage 2 drought conditions. All residents are encouraged to voluntarily undertake water conservation actions in this 2nd of 5 stages, including reducing outdoor irrigation and postponing the planting of new lawns or vegetation. The State has experienced this level of drought 5 times in the last 20 years – through a combination of high temperatures and rain shortfall. This has led to reduced ground water levels, soil moisture and low stream levels. We are monitoring this closely and any changes to the Stage declaration will be posted to the Town website.
